Cherry – sort Šumadinka

Šumadinka’s cherry is the famous local cherry, created by the crossing of Hajman’s can and Kereška. Selection was done by prof. Dr. Asen Stančević and prof. Dr. Petar Misic, and for the sort was officially recognized in 1984. This sort is interesting because it has a large fruit that is about 6 grams on average, and it can be significantly more difficult than that.

The color of the fetus is darker red, while the shape could be described as a dull brook. It’s sweet, pleasant aromas and a bit of sour taste. The skin is smaller and round. The fruits of Šumadinka for harvest start at the beginning of July, and for this reason it is classified in late sorts.
